Your tyranny cannot crush me,
for I have flown far from here:
soaring high above
gathering dark rain clouds;
beyond the reach
of cold metal guns.
Your barbs cannot touch me,
for I have slipped away:
wings carrying me to
dark craggy mountain peak;
beyond the black shadow
of impenetrable walls.
You cannot hurt me,
for my imagination is free:
released from the bindings
of my body’s prison;
spinning unencumbered
in its own orbit;
light and untethered:
far from grim reality.
